The Opportunity
An established global renewable energy technology manufacturer is expanding its UK operations and is seeking a Technical Engineer to support the growth of its residential Energy Storage Systems (ESS) and Energy Management solutions.
This is a customer-facing, technically focused role combining technical sales support, training, and market development, working closely with sales, engineering, and R&D teams.
Key Responsibilities
🔧 Technical Sales Support
Provide expert technical support on residential ESS solutions, including batteries, inverters, BMS, and energy management systems
Deliver product demonstrations, system walkthroughs, and technical presentations to distributors and installers
📈 Lead Generation & Opportunity Identification
Support the sales team in identifying high-potential customers and applications
Contribute to pipeline development by advising on system suitability and use cases
🤝 Customer & Partner Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and installation partners
Deliver pre- and post-sales technical support to ensure high customer satisfaction
Conduct regular technical training sessions for partners and internal stakeholders
🧠 Engineering & R&D Collaboration
Act as the technical bridge between the UK market and internal engineering/R&D teams
Provide structured market feedback and field data to support product optimisation
📊 Market Intelligence
Track UK ESS market trends and produce periodic market insights
Analyse competitor products, features, and pricing to support effective positioning
Requirements
Education
Degree in Electrical Engineering or
Electrical installation & testing qualification with relevant industry experience
Experience
3+ years’ experience in ESS project delivery, technical service, or technical support
Experience managing subcontractors and handling warranty or after-sales technical issues
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and PV/ESS installation practices
Ability to interpret electrical schematics and system designs
Confident communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
Willingness to travel locally within the UK
Experience working with installers, distributors, or manufacturers in residential energy systems
